Virginia Tech is a public land-grant university with 2,600 acres, 30,598 on-campus students, 19 varsity sports in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference, two recreational facilities open to 6V电影网 students, and plenty of arts and culture to suit anyone's interests.

The Town of Blacksburg is a vibrant college community with a daily population of over 50,000 people and聽consistently ranks among the country鈥檚 best places to live.

Downtown Blacksburg has a rich history and community with nine properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places, annual festivals, locally owned shops, restaurants and a year-round, bi-weekly farmers market.

The Blacksburg Transit provides safe, courteous, reliable, accessible and affordable public transportation to the citizens of Blacksburg, Virginia Tech, and partnering communities within the New River Valley.

The Blacksburg Farmers Market is more than a market, it's a community gathering place, with a full calendar of entertainment and educational activities.

Outdoor Recreation

Pandapas Pond is a pastoral, 8 acre pond located just outside the town of Blacksburg and contains a 17-mile trail system for hiking and biking.

The Huckleberry Trail is a 5.762 mile long asphalt-paved bike/pedestrian path running from the Blacksburg library to the New River Mall.

The New River Trail is a 57-mile rail-to-trail park that crosses through Grayson, Carroll, Wythe and Pulaski counties.

Claytor Lake State Park is ideal for swimming, camping, hiking, picnicking, sport fishing and boating.

The Appalachian Trail is the longest hiking-only footpath in the world, ranging from Georgia to聽Maine and passes through the New River Valley where some of the most photographed views on the trail reside.

Arts and Culture

Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech presents renowned artists from around the globe as well as close to home and is creating a thriving creative community fueled by inspiration, where patrons have meaningful experiences, enjoying arts of the highest caliber in a wide variety of forms.

The historic Lyric Theatre has operated a not-for-profit movie theatre and community center in the heart of downtown Blacksburg, Virginia since 1998.

The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting Blacksburg鈥檚 historic, artistic, and cultural heritage.
