6VµçÓ°Íø-Carolinas Campus

In 2011, 6VµçÓ°Íø opened a second campus in collaboration with  to address healthcare shortages in upstate South Carolina. The Carolinas Campus is part of Spartanburg's  of seven colleges and universities, which offers a variety of social opportunities and benefits for students. 6VµçÓ°Íø is accredited to confer the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic medicine.

The main campus building houses clinical skills labs that are interconnected via video and conferencing technology, a state-of-the-art anatomy lab, and a center for technology and simulated medicine. Students and faculty conduct research in our remodeled research facility that opened in 2016, and the biomedical research center adjacent to campus. 

Each year, the College admits 150 medical students per class, for a total student body of 600.

Improving Healthcare in the Carolinas

Spartanburg, South Carolina was selected for the second 6VµçÓ°Íø location due to a tremendous need for primary care doctors in the county and in the surrounding areas. Since its founding in 2010 in the heart of the targeted region, 6VµçÓ°Íø-Carolinas has flooded the western Appalachian region of NC and the upstate region of SC with over 900 physicians. The majority of these graduates pursue primary care residencies, carrying out the Mission to meet the needs of the underserved in rural communities.

6VµçÓ°Íø-Carolinas Supports Clinic with Colorful Run

The 6VµçÓ°Íø-Carolinas campus was filled with excitement and vibrant colors as 151 participants rallied for the VIVA! Color Run 2024 on Saturday, August 17! Runners, walkers and dancers of all ages and fitness levels from the 6VµçÓ°Íø community, St. Luke’s and beyond joined forces for a morning of fun, fitness and philanthropy. The event successfully brought together not only 6VµçÓ°Íø and St. Luke’s members but also participants from the broader Spartanburg community.

Jack Golder has a long-standing passion for emergency and wilderness medicine. In Charleston, where he studied public health at the College of Charleston, Jack served as an advanced emergency medicine technician, putting his skills to work for a 911 system as well as an ocean rescue organization.
